Gear shifter vibration

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find it in the midst of all the other vibration threads.
As I'm driving the gear shifter just started suddenly vibrating more than normal.
Not a terrible amount, just enough to be annoying.
I'm thinking it might be the bushings but I would like some other opinions.

Thoughts?

drive the car and quickly hit it and let off. see if it moves a lot. if so it can be a worn or bad moor mount. that would cause a vibration too

Bushings. Also check your engine and trans mounts. Vibration from the front end can transmit through the steel bar.
