Im savin money for some forced induction but i dont know what i should get, ive been considering the turbo but ive heard the reliability on those thiings are shit. And Ive heard that the JRSC is reliable but not as upgradeable as the greddy turbo im just wondering which one u guys think is beter reliability and performance wise.

Me, I'm pro-turbo. But I've never trash talked the SC. It depends on what you want. Think of it this way, the turbo, you say is shit for realiability, which is not all true, it just depends on the install and how well you take care of it. But anyway, the turbo is friendly with the GSR motor because of the low-compression. 8psi and your cherry. A SC you can think of as an air intake on steroids. But w/ the SC it takes power to make power. The SC pulley runs of your belts on the car. So basically your taking power from the engine just to run the SC to make that "extra" power. From what I've researched, you can get much more power from the right turbo set-up than you could get out of a JR SC. but like I said, it depends on what you to use your car far, know what i mean?

thanks for the input but what kind of stuff do you have to do differently to keep the turbo runnin healthy oil, fluids, coolent exc.

I have a modified greddy kit on my car and love it. boost comes on fast and pretty strong. you need a turbo timer to really keep the turbo in good shape and time it about 2 minutes. change the oil every 2500 miles or so and keep an eye on all fluids.

what mods do you got on your car?

inline pro head gasket and block gaurd, act clutch and flywheel, afc, fmu, 450cc injectors, missing link 255lph fuel pump, custom 2.5" DP, 3" thermal exhaust, Greddy "Big" FMIC, Greddy profecB, stock greddy piping, stock internals, full interior, street tires.

Times in sig, car just got street tuned over the last few days with the new fuel system(hondata, 880cc injectors, 3 bar map) and runs awesome it is parked for winter but will have #'s for the new set up in spring. I also have a Golden Eagle sleeved block with endyn pistons and eagle rods now too so my compression is actually lower than it was on the inline pro head gasket. the turbo will max at about 400hp at the crank and I hope to make about 350-365whp or so on race gas and 23psi it easily will make 300whp on 14psi and pump gas

Hey downshift. A gsr does not have low compression.

As for this topic. I have been battling betweena procharger kit or a fmax kit.

10:1 is lower than you think. you can run 12psi safely on that compression with a good tune and with better internals you can run even more boost even with the same compression(eg. 10:1 forged pistons)

Fmax is garbage fuel managment the MF2 just sucks FMU is way better. also get some 370cc injectors to be safe with a AFC or something like that to control them.

centrifugal blowers are junk on small displacment motors they make good #'s but run like shit( vortech si 277whp and 14 second 1/4 miles)

10:1 is not low to me. Since i was use to 7.8:1 in my dsms.

I agree with the fuel management on the fmax. was looking at a 8:1 fmu, 310cc( or alittle higher) and a v-afc to start out.
