Headlight Wiring

Im soldering a resistor to dim my high beams and make them DRLs (my hids are more than bright enough) so ive got a couple questions.

1. Which wire turns the parking lights on for dusk? (so high beams come on instead of signals)
2. What color wire delivers power to the High beams themselves?

i would just hook it up seperatly,

but it sounds like your trying to divert the power source from one area to your high beams?

another way would be to drill into your high beam housing and run a city light. at least thats what another buddy of mine did, and tap it into the parking lights.

but if your trying to go for a certain look leme know how it turns out, but i would just look in the wiring diagram from the haynes repair manual.
