Idles perfect, just won't rev

My friend has a 2000 teg, Car starts and idles perfect, give it any gas and it just bogs, spits and sputters. Even if you try to ease into it, just bogs. New plugs and wires, swapped in a known good dizzy. New fuel filter about a month ago. No codes or CEL. Single mother, super tight budget, cant just throw parts and sensors at it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not throwing a code is a little weird.

Have you checked the passages or throttle body? Something might be clogging the air or the throttle body might not be working right.

I second this. Check intake control valves

Check engine light came on. P1381, tried erasing it with scan tool comes right back on within 5 seconds of starting car.Used live time data on scan tool and watched what was happening with ignition advance, while idling its at like 26 when rpms are brought up it goes down and stays around 16,

The timing is off check the TDC or crankshaft sensor.

arent they both in the distributor?

Its def related to the distributor. Could be ICM, or bad sensor in the distributor. Borrow an OBD2b distributor to test with or just buy a new one.
