Is my timing off?

how can you tell if your timming is off ?

i just got my car back from the boothleg mechanic and it feels funny .. i dont know if it is because i have been driving my wife saturn for two months now and have forgetten the feel of my Teg or something is wrong

use a timing light. There is no other way that you could check the timing. It is fairly straight foreword

what timing light .. you mean the check engine light ?

a timing light looks like a gun. what you do is hook it up to your #1 cylinder spark plug wire and then start your engine and point it at your crankshaft pully and there is a little gauge down there that tells you if your timing is on or off. You can buy a timing light or aka a timing gun, at any auto parts store.

what do you mean by feels funny? timing may not be the reason it feels "funny". please discribe the feelings you get
