LoweredDC4's Roadtrip Log: Westcoast to the Midwest!

In about a month, july 15th ish... I am going on vacation and i am gonna be driving from Washington to Kansas. I am gonna visit my family and friends because i havent seen them in 2years. Well I made this thread to log my progress as i drive half way through the country. Also i made this thread to get some opinions and advice on how to prepare ( what tools and extra car parts i should bring, etc) for this trip and what i should do to make sure my car is tip top shape to make it. So CI, please help me prepare and give me some advice for my roadtrip! :D

I will make a list of things people have said below!


Things I should take with me:
-Tools
-Coolant
-Weaopn
-Tune up
-Tire Pressure, Balance, wheel alignment
-Coolant, Oil, Trans fluid change and top off all fluids
-T-Belt and Water pump
-Check all hoses
-Make sure your brakes are good
-Carry some fluid with you like oil, windshield and coolant on the trip
-Make sure your battery and alternator is working good.

That sounds like a blast man!! i would take a extra battery coolant and a tool kit if you have one. also for self protection take a firearm lol you never no i dont even go too the store without mine

I live in Kansas! I'd say you've got everything you need. I'd bring spare parts if you know there is a issue obviously.

I guess that's everything you need. If you need more things, you can just buy them from a local store, obviously lol

Not sure on how maintain your vehicle is
1. A/C Freon
2. Tune up

7. Check all hoses
8. Make sure your brakes are good
9. Carry some fluid with you like oil, windshield and coolant on the trip
10. Make sure your battery and alternator is working good.


Why you need a firearm do you have a conceal permit? If not I leave it at home. If you get pulled over all I got to say GOOD LUCK. You are on your own.

And thanks everyone, the list is getting pretty big and there are some things on there that i didnt even think about doing before the trip lol.

Bring a little extra coolant.

lol ill bring tons of coolant. :p hopefully if my car does break down, fellow ci members in that region will help out :)
