quiet to loud exhaust

I'm currently running a full Skunk2 MegaPower exhaust from header back with the Skunk2 high flow cat and even with the silencer in the exhaust it's very loud. Very loud. And when I take the silencer out, my wife says she can hear me coming (on light load) from about 4 blocks away; with the silencer in she can hear me from a block and a half away.
