RIP "blue" v.2.0 (MASSIVE BUILD TO COME)

So, I'm starting my head build next weekend, so I went in to Autozone to order all the various gaskets, etc. The intake manifold gasket lines up perfect, and should do the job. Problem is, though, that the throttle body gasket they gave me wasn't even close to fitting correctly.

On the packaging, it said

"1992-1993 2.3 Honda (H23A)"

However, my car is obviously not rocking an H series motor. I have a JDM B18C, non Type-R (so, "JDM GS-R"). I'm swapping on a first gen Skunk2 Intake manifold, and when I test fitted the gasket, the size was WAY off. there were open parts of the gasket that stuck out by almost an inch, and some of the provisions in the gasket for the coolant, etc. were way off, some of the provisions even stuck out beyond the casting of the manifold.

I don't have any pics of the terrible fitment, as I've already returned the gasket, but is there something I'm missing, here? I thought that most of the B and H series TBs were interchangeable for the most part, anyway.

Ideas/suggestions? I need info by this weekend.

Car was tuned the other day.
Made 171whp and 128tq.

Not bad for an intake manifold and cam swap. Picked up 20whp over the B18C's baseline.

So, I decided to post, in order, all the videos I have of my car on the dyno. Kind of a time line of my car's evolution in terms of power plants.

So, let's begin, shall we.

Here we are, in August of 2008, at the Fall Honda Meet I put together in Fredericksburg, VA.
This was with the LS which had just an intake, Crower 402 cams, and Greddy SP2 exhaust system.

Pull 3:

Best overall pull was 123whp and 114ft lbs of torque.

Now, for a tired, old LS with well over 200,000 miles on it, that's not bad.

A few motor plans came and went, but I ended up settling on a JDM B18C swap (SIR-G Spec, with the LSD trans)
So, let's fast forward to 2011, I swapped in the B18C and had fun with it, being mostly stock, just the basic I/H/E combo. A few months ago, since I knew I was going to be building the head, I decided to get a baseline of the motor as it was, so off to CNC Engine Dynamics for some glory pulls.

Here we go.

In this stock, bolt-on equipped form, I laid down a respectable 151whp and 113ft lbs trq
Not too bad, if I might say so, myself.

Now, let's get down to the good stuff. Let's jump ahead to last weekend. :)
I installed a set of JDM ITR cams and valve springs, as well as a first gen Skunk2 Intake Manifold (kind of converting the head to Type-R specs, but still utilizing the P72 GS-R head). So, I went in this past Wednesday for a tuning session with Chris Miller @ CNC Engine Dynamics.

Here's what we came up with.

Now, I have to say, that my phone's battery died after the third pull, but there were about 8-10 pulls in total, that ended up with a final number of 171whp and 128ft lbs of torque

So, to recap. With those numbers, that puts me at a 20whp and 15ft lbs of torque improvement over the stock B18C specs, and nearly a 50whp improvement over the LS when it was dyno'd in 2008.

I'd like to think I've got a fun little motor here ;)

As always, opinions welcomed. Thanks for reading and watching :)

Just picked it back up from the paint shop, today :)

A little teaser:

I LOVE the look of the side skirts. The paint is nice in person. Looks good in pictures, but it looks a million times better in person.

JDP lip going on this week, as well as finishing up my wheels.
A little teaser of the wheels in their new color:

Alright then. No more teasers:

Wheels are painted in the same shade of gold as found on Subaru STI wheels :)
Put those 2 together, as well as the gorgeous JDP lip that is going on soon, and we have a winner !!
Also gonna get lowered another inch for the ECHM.

Thanks. :) I put the JDP lip on yesterday. On my phone at the moment, but I'll get some pics up tonight, hopefully.

sorry for the delay. My friend came over and we watched Act of Valor (<<good flick, btw)

here goes :)

freshly installed, hadn't even left my living room yet:

side view, look at how well the skirts and lip compliment each other:

here we go:

got my valve cover all stripped down:

going to get painted wrinkle red to match the ITR :)

testing out center newly painted center caps:

i WAS going to go with my old color scheme center caps (the same color setup I had when the wheels were silver and blue) but, I didn't like the way they looked with the gold. *thumbs down, imo*
