RPM difference?

Hello,

I have an LSV teg with a GSR gauge cluster along with a Apexi V-AFC vtec controller. I noticed that the RPM is off about 1k between the cluster & the Vtec controller...When the cluster is showing 3k RPM the controller is showing 2k...Which of the two is displaying an accurate reading? I am assuming the Vtec controller is...Just wanted to get the right answers from you more experienced members out there....Thanks in advance....

Do you have access to a handheld tach? You could probably go down to any auto parts store and see if they got one they can use on your car to test which tach is readin the correct . There's a little plug in your e-bay on the drivers side that you can plug in the tach to test it so u don't gotta splice into any wires or anything , cause that's what them cashier register mechanics do

i would say the vafc is correct...because it is getting the signal digitally... the tach is on a mechanical device that sometimes get "off" over time
