I have a sony cd/mp3 player and it has a ipod hook up that runs under the center console. The answer to theft is take the face plate off if you are worried about it. I have had aftermarket systems in my cars for the past 6 years and never had a theft. When I park my car I make sure nothing is in plain sight, I usually just hide my faceplate in my car somewhere when i do take it off bc I doubt a someone will search all over my car for the faceplate... just my opinion though. its your money do what you think is best
