Perhaps the fuel pressure regulator? The little brass looking thing at the return end of the fuel rail? My car also stumbles like that every once in a while. Usually if it persists I push the clutch in and blip it up for about half a second and let it fall back to the RPM where i disengaged the clutch. It happens occasionally.

My brother had a similar problem. His car was chugging from start until it got to the higher revs. His problem was a coolant sensor. If the car is bogging and not holding a steady rpm when the gas is in a constant position usually it's the TPS.

hi there had the same problem with my 2000 b18 and it turned out to be my harmonic balancer
