Nor*Cal Roads, Sights, and Eats

So the idea was to create a list of roads, with places to eat along the way and sights to see. Anyone can participate, and share your roads of choice. Remember This is a Nor*Cal thread so this will only encompass roads in the nor cal area. So I would say Buttonwillow is the cut off point. So if you are going to visit family or friends, and want to drive a road on the way, check this thread out!

Road Name: Historic Highway 49 (highway 49)

Location: Between Aburn on HWY 80 and Placerville on HWY 50 (it connects the two) I usually take it Aburn to Placerville, You can take it the opposite way and its a bit more fun at the end.

Average Driving Time: About 2 Hours / 90 Minutes day time travel depends on traffic.

Places to Eat Carniceria Y Taqueria Soto, 175-A Placerville Dr, Placerville 95667 (highly recommended by Ken at Garage Star)

Places to See: Historic Hwy 49 is considered "Gold Country" and it has amazing sights, rivers, and hiking trails.Pull over and explore!

Points of Interest Major point of interest is Jackson Rancharia Casino

Location: HWY1 from Monterey to Big Sur

Average Driving Time: Depends on how far you want to go, 40 minutes from Monterey to Big Sur

Places to Eat Monterey and Carmel have plenty of places to eat, there are also road side cafes in Big Sur.

Places to See: Oceans, forests
