I'd recommend he be on the safe side, but the guy who would be tuning his car can tell him for sure. I never tuned my car with the stock injectors still on there, but my builder recommended I upgrade, so I did.

8urcivic....I don't remember you having a mods list in your "Best NA Teg" app that could put out 225 HP NA?

If my goals were to reach 180whp (NA), which size injectors would be best suited? 270cc or 310cc?

Sorry to thread jack Matt. Just curious.

ok wow some good info here

...so...price comparison

ive been finding type-r pistons for around 300-400, hondat for about 200...then tune which will prolly be around 150 + install of everything will be about 600 so about 1500 max.... an maybe more if i need injectors

my friend thats doing the work for me said he could get me new GSR pistons from honda for 200...

hmm

so about 500 more for the type-r pistons

i bet its worth it though

You can get JDM Type R pistons for about $200. $300-400 is way over-priced.

Search "type r pistons" on Ebay and there are a whole bunch for sale, from good sellers too. USDM ITR, JDM ITR, CTR and others. JDM ITR pistons will give you 11.4:1 compression (81.25mm pistons, stock HG), still safe for pump gas, tuned properly.

If you ever plan on doing cams in the future, you'll really wish you put in some higher compression pistons now. If you do not plan on upgrading your cams, then this may not be the best thing for you to invest in.
But remember, as time goes by, more and more people are moving on to K Series engines, lowering the demand for B Series parts, so prices for B Series aftermarket will continue to fall with demand.
