My engine had a clicking/knocking sound....had the valve's adjusted and the noise is gone (only cost $80 - well worth it). I hated that noise, cuz it made the car sound retarded!

I am assuming you mean towards the firewall when you say back of the engine....cuz I did find a ground wire that was just hanging out by the radiator. Is that the one?

Most cars are different in my experience. My Integra runs about the same as yours does. My Geo Prizm gets to the half-way point.

Can I ask why you would get rid of the breather? I just put it on because I didn't know where else to direct the hose. And does the red Spectre connector and expandable hose really look that bad? I replaced the hose on it because the other metal tubing had two holes in it and AutoZone only...

Good point. I usually try to have the mindset that it's cheaper to maintain an old car than to buy a new car.

It was mostly the tranny ($2900) - haven't had to do much of anything to the motor. I also had to replace the rack ($800). Also some other miscealleneous things (brakes, some seals, tie rod, timing-belt upper cover, crank-pulley, blower motor, etc.). Yeah, it sucks when you don't know...
