my car is an 96 obd2 gsr... so if i have a obd1 vtec head... i need and obd1 ecu, dizzy, would the engine wiring harness have to be obd1 or 2.... can i keep my IM and Exhaust manifold.

this is probably a stupid question but i just want to be sure... i have a B18b obd2 motor in my DC2.. to do a LSvtec build do i have to have an obd2 head or will any bseries head work... thanx for the help!

the redline for an LS is 7200rpms well mine is and i am running a stock P75 obd2 ecu in it....

i have inserts in my DC2 and they were a pain in the A$% to put in but once i got a hold of a vice i was able to pop them in tight and bolt it right up.... dash shakes a little bit when i am at like 1500rpm but that is not big deal...

i wouldnt worry about getting them turned.... the oem rotors are not that expensive... but make sure to do the pads too or the old pads are going to cut into your brand new rotor..

possible starter ^^^ or ignition switch.. they both do that when they start going out.

are you throwing any codes ...? is it overheating when it is running.?

the reliability of the ls/vtec all depends on what you put into it... if you do it cheap then you are going to get a cheap motor... do it right and it will last just as long as any other build.

i have an extra owners manual laying around if you want one i can mail it to you... i have one for a 97 and for a 00'... alot of auto trans slip when they are low on fluid too.. so i would check that first.. then do a flush if the fluid is dark or brownish..

ok i am looking to go LS/vtec wit my teg, but i have always heard that it is like putting a ticking time bomb in your car. I have been told that a Ls/vtec motor can giveout at any moment. i would like to know what i would have to do to my built to make a reliable LS/Vtec motor...

i changed my starter and it solved the starting problem... the starter was not getting a good case ground..
