How did YOU hear about Integras?

When I was 15 I really wanted a 95 m3 but when I turned 16 I realised that the repairs would cost far too much so I turned to civics. I really wanted a eg civic with a b16 swap. After I got my license at 17 a friend of mine, who is the head guy at goodwill auto auctions said there was a integra that's going to be auctioned that weekend. I had never heard of a integra so I looked it up and learned quite alot about it. Later found out it was a GSR lol. Went but when the price went above $2700 it wasn't worth it because the brakes were shot and I didn't have more money anyways. And the whole thing that you really had no clue what was wrong with it. So I went back to searching for a eg civic with the d16 but after 4 months I found a GSR on craigslist, had it less than 5 hours later :)

I was out at the races and got beat in my turbo S13 by a B16 eg hatch on nitrous. I didn't want a civic but I thought I'd check out the whole fwd Honda scene. Bought my 92 gsr back in 2004, maybe 05, I'd have to check the title lol. I didn't like the 3rd gens at the time, but if I was to get another one I would def get one instead. At the time it was the slowest, most uncomfortable car I'd ever owned. Didn't handle that good, loud, always leaking some fluid, and for some reason I haven't got rid of it, and keep throwing cash at it. I guess it's got something that keeps me from getting rid of it.

back in 92 the then gf test drove everything, the teg was hands down the clear winner.
we both thought it was the sh*t even though it was a lowly rs hatch.
always loved the utility of hatches so clearly a teg was in my future.
meanwhile i drove her old escort with a freaky mazda diesel engine. fun car,
tons of torque, 45mpg, smog exempt. plus you could downshift and bury tailgaters in a cloud
of thick dirty exhaust lmao. someone even reported it to the air quality board or whoever.
they sent me a notice that i responded gladly to with: sorry. diesel. exempt. 8)
but diesels and aluminum heads dont play nice so after a few years the jig was up.
time to find a teg. gen3 was now out, test drove a new rs. wow. nice but didnt quite
have the coin. almost bought a 92 but the guy wasnt there when i called back.
scoured the classifieds and struck pure gold. a guy in los gatos was running a teg salvage biz
out of his garage and getting wholesale parts from los gatos acura just down the road.
drove over to his place and holy sh*t! about 6 tegs parked out front and biz was boomin! :w00t:!
they all looked perfect, which to choose? then i saw her, love at first sight: 95 black gs-r hatch.
theft recovery with 700 miles. they stole the doors, seats, wheels, hatch, hood, etc. it now had cloth seats
(i hate leather) and gen 2 gsr rims. $17K, about $5k less than new and a sales receipt for $14k. SOLD!
i've driven the hell out of it, from ca to fl and back, many trips from mo to ca through the rockies.
317k miles currently (off a bit due to gen 2 tires). still all stock except intake and brand x cherry bomb muff.
too bad the gf wasnt as dependable but she's now been replaced with younger jailbait. 8)

NFS Underground 2.
I loved EG hatches, but saw the SOHC as underpowered. Bought my Integra, loved it. Bought a BRZ, saw the Integra as underpowered. Bought a WRX, saw the BRZ as underpowered. Sigh, guess I can never be satisfied.

I never have them too much thought until I got my DB. Couldn't find a shortbed full size I liked so I thought I'd check out civics and Integras. Integras were extremely appealing and I lucked out finding the DB.

My girlfriend's parents bought her a 1st Gen in 1987, while we were in high school.

I was on my way to my aunts wedding in ohio (I'm from jersey, and was 7 years old at the time) Saw a Forest green Integra pull next to the limo and I just started rambling on apparently about how I would modify it (This was around when the first fast and the furious came out) and til this day, I remember that everytime I get into the front seat. :D

and F&F obviously had an influence as well, RIP PW.

Well I was a kid probably, and my dad bought a brand new Phoenix Yellow Integra Type R.. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Picked it up from the dealer and babied that thing.. The parts and legitness on that type R.. If it were around today, would be on magazines. Legit Spoon everything, from wheels, to body panels to engine components etc.. First time I ever gazed upon a Integra... Now I own one :) like father like son

When I used to frequent some um.. gatherings late nights in San Jose back in 2002ish, there was a yellow Type R built by a shop in Hayward that um.. dominated other vehicles. I started to like them then.

(I'm obviously not talking about that activity that we're not allowed to talk about.)

Friend let me borrow his 95 built/boosted LS for a day cuz my civic had a blown clutch and I needed to run some errands. Fell in love with it. Didn't wanna give it back... I'm now working on gathering parts for my build on my 94 LS
