I've read once on TI about a guy shifting his auto like a manual..one day I tried it at a red light. I shifted all the way down to 1st, I took off quick, god off the gas than shifted to 2nd, so on and so on...it was faster. I got an auto for a reason.. I'm lazy and its perfect for a DD. So I don't see what's the point of shifting it.
The only time I shift it, is to pass a slow bus/18wheeler when I want to swatch lanes, I downshift to 3rd, gas it and the RPM's go to 6k easy, picks up speed quick. Than I switch back to D4 and cruise from there. That's all an auto is good for.
