Neither have a crank sensor on the pump and both have the opening for the breather box on the back side of the block. Only sensor on the back is the oil switch, no knock if thats what you mean.

Correct, the issue is the diameter on the inside of ther gear is smaller than that of the crankshaft. What gets me is they are both b18b1.

The gear will not slip on the crankshaft.

Just picked up a 95 ls with a bad motor. It came with a replacement block. Both motors are stamped b18b1 and both obd1. I go to tranfer over the crankshaft gear and pulley and they do not fit on the replacement block. Am I missing something? Looked through the posts, so apologizes if a repeat...

Royal Purple is good stuff, i ran it in my 80 caprice with a decently built 350, my dad runs it in his 67 camaro and he ran it in his buick electra 225. Also one of my friends uses it his civic. We havent had a problem with and either has my dad. I guess its like they say to each their own.
