So i put a new timing belt on my 96 GSR b18c1. My question is, When it comes to belt tension, am i suppost to push up on the tenshioner myself with a screw drvier, or is the spring tension on the timing belt tensioner all that is needed?

Hey guys, im doing the timing on my 96 b18c1, I made the cams and crank to TDC and then i slipped the timing belt on and it still all lines up, but everytime i tighten the tensioner it takes the crank out of time. am i doing something wrong here? please give me some guidance. thanks!
