Just took both cases off... Looks ALMOST the same.... different bearing... use b16 one... different reverse shifter.... use gsr one... only 2 shift forks instead of 3.... one of which is 5 thousandth bigger... smaller one is in a spacer... stay tuned... this just might work.

Ok, so I was cruising craigslist and came across a reworked gsr head at a decent price. Im planning to put it on my ls block and I just wanted to know if people have any tips and tricks I should know... Im not an idiot, just new to engine building and Im trying to gain from other peoples...

took me a year but I just finished reading everything.... first, awesome. second, Im into going fast (new generation of driver) but I like the corners rather than straights.. third, who is this transmission guy? I need to pick his brain... My GSR trans just coughed up half of 5 teeth...

ANYBODY??? Has anyone swapped in the ls 5th gear themselves? did all parts except the same gear go back onto the gsr trans? If so its likely they are the same... I'd just crack it and take a look except the ls is 2 hrs away...

Is the counter shaft the same? if so you are my savior bc I still have the ls I swapped out... pops out of 5th and wont reverse... but if its the same its rebuild time!
