that what it sounds like to me stop being cheap, go buy a 5 dollor oil filter take off the old one, clean the surface, lub your oil filter, put a new back on, start the car, see if it leaks, then check the oil, fill, then drive

only way your motor will hydro lock is if your whole filter is in under water... otherwise you might suck up a little get a white puff of smoke but thats it. either or you might see one hp with a sri or cai, really just for show and sound tell you start doing some more moding
