You can jump the fan connector that is located on the thermostat housing. Turn the key to [II] and the fans should come on. If not, you might have another problem with wiring, or the fans themselves.

When the switch is jumped, the fans work? If not, I would test for breaks in the wires and test the fan motors with a multimeter. Also, IIRC the A/C and cooling fan relays should be interchangeable. You can swap them around if you know one is good.

Make sure you post pictures of the lug nuts once on the car!

Some good advice in this thread. Did you ever figure out the issue? It sounds like your fans are staying on after you shut down the car because the car is overheating, so I would figure out that issue first.
