Just get some telescoping gages like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Mitutoyo-155-905-150mm-Piece-Telescoping/dp/B001OBX2GS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434833481&sr=8-1&keywords=telescoping+internal+gages

And buy a mic set that'll give you 1-3 inch range like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Mitutoyo-103-931-Micrometer-Standards-Graduation/dp/B002SG7PSY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1434833547&sr=8-5&keywords=mitutoyo+micrometer

I'm sure you can find some cheap ones made in China at Harbor Freight or Northern for a lot less; I pulled Mitutoyo cause that's what I use. Then you can measure and order the correct bearings for both your rod and crank journals the first time around.

Weren't all those measurements all that's needed? Besides the piston to wall clearance?

This telescope good enough?

http://m.harborfreight.com/6-piece-telescoping-gauge-set-5649.html

Which micrometer should be good enough?

http://m.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=Micrometer

Any other tools suggested?

I found a local guy who has some that he doesn't need. He says they are acl. Googling the part & find really cheap acl bearings on eBay or Amazon that March the part #'s. Are they fake or knock offs?

I don't mind buying the bearings from a local guy. It helps me at all. He purchase them off eBay from this link.

I just don't buy those measurements. Having worked as a machinist I can tell you it's tough to get a group of parts all measuring the same within a thousandth, and it's really hard to get them all within ten-thousandths. Most engine builders I've seen don't even have equipment that precise because there's no need to. So I would have zero trust in those measurements.

Those pitsburg telescopes and 3 piece mic set would work fine for this. You need the 1-2 and 2-3 mics.

Alright. Don't go by those measurements. Measure them myself up to the tenth-thousands with the tools I posted. Looks like on the harbor freight site I'll have to get the mics calibrated from what the reviews say. Yay! :D . As for the bearings. Do not buy them? even if its going to help me clearance Oil?

Thanks for all the info so far! All these pages from everyone has helped a lot to steer me in the right direction. I'm enjoying all this!

Btw..those measurements were done by a local builder. He built a sleeved boosted b18c block. He took his time measuring everything. I was at his house for little over an hour.

Then if you believe those measurements are correct just use them to get the right bearings; you have all the info you need.

Nah man, he doesn't just want you to hold his hand. He wants you to stroke it softly and whisper in his ear while you do it.

Or...just take it to a shop to be rebuilt and assembled.
When taken to a shop do they ask what oil clearance is prefered? I guess I'm not sure what to go with either. Any other questions to ask? The shop I want to go to is closed on Mondays & Sundays. I'm debating on having them do it or just the bearing & measuring.
