I used a butter knife to get mine off...just go around the VC with the butter knife or whatever you prefer and slowly pry it all around the VC. You shouldnt damage anything maybe your VC gasket but I'm assuming you have a new one in replace anyways if its old. Good luck.

Mine cranks but won't start...I had to replaced the IC cause I had no sparks. After replacing the IC still cranks but won't start. Replaced the ICM and started right up. No issue since replacing the IC and ICM. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I'm not a mechanic but would it be something with the dizzy such as the IC or the ICM or the dizzy itself. Like I said, I'm not a tech just throwing things out there cause some times we tend to over look the simple things which I did in the past. Good luck.
